BIOGRAPHY
Matt Salinger is an American actor and producer, born on February 13, 1960, in Windsor, Vermont. Son of respected author JD Salinger, author of The Rye Catcher, and psychologist Alison Claire Douglas, Matt studied at Princeton University, before graduating from Columbia University, where he studied art history and drama. As an actor, Matt debuted in the popular comedy Revenge of the Nerds (1984), before being remembered for playing Steve Rogers/Captain America in the 1990 film Captain America , which is currently considered a cult curiosity. Salinger has had an intermittent acting career, spending much of his time protecting his father’s legacy and publishing hundreds of texts that the author left before his death. As an actor, Matt is remembered for participating in films such as Beyond Dreams (1998), Nobody Wants the Night (2015) and Irrigation Below Zero (2021), among others.
